In celebration of Mother's Day this weekend we're thrilled to feature Jamie Greenberg, a fun-loving super mom and makeup artist to the stars. Her celebrity clients-turned-friends include Kaley Cuoco, Rashida Jones and Jessica Alba, just to name a few. We are in awe of this beauty and mother of three and how she makes it look so easy while always keeping it real. We chatted with this female powerhouse and GIAPENTA friend about everything from how to get ahead in the beauty industry to what being a mom really means to her.
Where are you from and where do you currently reside?
I’m from Maryland but I live in Encino, CA.
Tell us about your kickass career:
I love my job. I work with my best friends - kind, creative, talented and exciting people. I also get to stay creative myself. No two days are the same! As a makeup artist I want to help people elevate their existing beauty so that they feel as confident and incredible as they deserve to feel. I try to share that on social media and I love connecting with women all over. If I can make their lives a little better and their relationships with makeup and beauty a little easier (and more fun!!!) then I’ll feel good at the end of the day. :)

What is the very best part about being a mother?
Motherhood means making a human or humans and then forever having your heart in a grip! Taking care and shaping this human the best you know how. While learning and evolving as a human so you can stay healthy and a great role model for the generation to come. It’s love, it’s happy, it’s sad, it’s frustrating, it’s silly, it’s hard, it’s relentless, it’s lucky, it’s crazy, it’s motherhood.Â
Do you think it’s important to have a mentor?
Absolutely. I had many great mentors that taught me the way! My mom was the best, she taught me to be a hard worker!
Who are some of your fashion and/or beauty icons?Â
I love Ru Paul , Sophia Loren, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper……they were all fueling my creativity when I was younger…..
Best advice for someone wanting to break into the beauty industry?
Shadowing makeup artists I admired was the best thing for me. I did it a long time. As I got better they’d start giving me the jobs they couldn’t take, and that’s how I finally got representation and my own clients. It’s so important to be patient and put the time in to really learn, network and grow more confident.
Must-have fashion accessories?
I’ve got a thing for shoes. If you’ve got good sneakers, you’re 
 in my book.
Tell us about your beauty regiment:
I try a lot of different products to find my favorites, so it does change a little. But generally I cleanse, use a toner and serum for hydration, and I love a good eye mask or face mask. I drive the kids to school in one (they love that, not embarrassed at ALL). It just wakes up my skin before moisturizer then makeup.
If you could tell your 20 year old self one thing, what would it be?Â
CHILL OUT! It’s all going to be great. Also by real estate and start a youtube channel now!Â
Fave travel destination?Â
Italy and Hawaii
When it’s time to sweat, what is your favorite workout?
I work out at Further Than Fitness in North Hollywood!! I’m obsessed. My trainer Simon is bomb and the group workouts are killer. Unfortunately I’m dealing with a back injury so I had to step back for a while, and that was really tough. I’ve been doing more meditation and yoga which helps a ton.
Pro tip for keeping up the hustle while also staying balanced?
I know it’s been said before, but listening to yourself and your body. Taking that time to check in with yourself and really listen to whatever it is you need at the moment. Sometimes it’s easy to feel guilty doing this…it feels kind of selfish, right? But supporting yourself is the only way you can support others, professionally and personally. As my queen Rupaul says, if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else!
If you weren’t pursuing your current career, what would you most likely be doing?Â
I would be in fitness or psychology. I love helping people and I love exercise!Â
Name one thing that scares the crap out of you:Â
Mean People!
Best part of your day?
I love being silly with my kids. Any time I get to do that is my favorite. My oldest loves making videos, my middle son wants me to try all the products on him, and my little one is just the sweetest. I could be a goofball with them all day!

I’m so lucky to be surrounded by people who inspire me. My husband is so passionate about his job and his family, my clients are so talented, and my colleagues are creative and 100% with me every step of the way.
